Crawfish Festival 2008
We went to the Crawfish Festival this past weekend in Breaux Bridge (pronounced Bro Bridge). We had a nice day. It was very hot that day, but not as humid as the norm. We planned to go on Friday evening, but it rained all night so we went Saturday afternoon. We got to see a Crawfish eating contest. We did not stay for the whole time, but they said last years winner ate 52 pounds of crawfish in 45 minutes! That is some serious peeling action going on! We looked at all the little shops and then we made our way over to the fair. Brandon, Michael and Adeline ate funnel cake while Emily and I rested on a bench. Emily is very pregnant right now and needed to rest every now and then. I am glad she was such a trooper on such a hot day! Overall, we had a good time despite the heat. Next up...The Shrimp and Petroleum Festival in September...Good Times!

Shrimp and Petroleum Festival... hmmmmmm. I'm wondering how they relate. I guess in Louisiana, anything goes!
Emily, I am going to let you explain this one since it is in your hometown...

you can read all about it... it's the states oldest harvest festival... Kicks off the beginning of shrimping season & celebrates the oil industry which is huge in Morgan City. Lots of fun... better than the Crawfish fest because it's FREE and IN THE SHADE (under a bridge) :)
