Update on Acadian Baptist Church
We have now had two official Sundays at church. Our first service, we had 24 people there. We were very encouraged, but realized some people were probably just coming to see what we were all about. Sunday night we had 9 people there. It was basically Brandon's family there. Then on Wednesday night we had 9 people again. We were encouraged since people around here do not usually go to church any other sevices but Sunday morning. Yesterday we had 18 people come to church in the morning and then last night we had 14 people come! We had a family come on Sunday morning and evening that has 3 kids. We also had a lady come and visit last night that saw our newspaper article in the paper and decided to give us a try...how exciting! We can not believe how the Lord has worked everything out for us. We praise Him and Thank Him every time we think about it! Just like the good old Doxology goes..."Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye Heavenly Host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.....AMEN"

Volleyball in December
I can not believe it is December 8th and we played volleyball tonight! If you notice in the pictures, everyone is sweating really bad! It was 85 degrees today. I'm not sure I will ever get used to the heat around here.
Look at the sweat marks on Brandon and Michael!

More Appartment Pictures
This is the finished product...I never got any pictures of the inside once it was finished. It endded up looking really nice!
Michael's Summer Project
This summer Michael turned Brandon and Emily's garage into a studio appartment.
We had a running joke that Brandon always just supervised Michael, and when no one was around, Michael verbally abused Brandon!

Welcome to South Louisiana!
Some of the perks of living in South Louisina is the nice warm weather in December. Some of the disadvantages of that warm weather is the creatures that come along with it. I found this little lizzard in my bathroom yesterday. I HATE creepy crawly things!

Cemetery Tour
Voodoo Queen
This is Marie Laveau's tomb. You can read the picture below to see what she was all about. The crazy thing about this tomb is all of the writting on it. They say if you put three x's on the tomb and say a little prayer to her then she will answer it. If she does answer it, then you come back and circle the x's. It was so crazy to know that people really do believe in Voodoo. Our guide told us this grave is the second most visited grave in the US. Next only to JFK's grave and right before Elvis' grave!

The New Orleans Aquarium
Madison got to come visit us in New Orleans for a day. We really enjoyed getting to see her. We went and saw an Imax show about fish. Madison was so cute she kept trying to catch the fish and she even hit the lady's head that was sitting in front of her!
Madison is petting a baby shark
Madison was with her Mimi and Papa Art. They were visiting her Uncle Chris in Mississippi.

This is the church Brandon and Michael will be pastoring. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to take over a church that has already been started. They do not have many faithful members, but they do have a store front building they meet in and all of the furniture is included! Our first official Sunday is this one coming up. Please pray that the Lord blesses this ministry and Michael and Brandon.

Hurricane Katrina 2007
Sherry came to visit us in September. We wanted to take her to New Orleans and on our way to the car, it started thundering really loud. We sent Michael to run to the car and Sherry and I tried to hide under a little shelter. It rained so hard we were not even protected by the water. So....we decided to make a run for the car as well. The water was so high, it was up to my calves! We had to ride in the car for over 30 minutes before we could change our clothes. We looked like we just got out of the shower with our clothes on!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Michael and I got to go to Texas to see my Granny Forrester for Thanksgiving. We enjoyed spending time with our family from Texas.
